1. Purpose
This Policy explains how cancellations, rescheduling, refunds, credits, and booking modifications are handled. The accepted Chef Offer™ may contain additional terms. Where a conflict exists, mandatory law controls, followed by the confirmed booking terms and this Policy.
2. Membership Cancellations
Users may cancel future membership renewal through account settings or support. Unless required by law, membership cancellation stops future renewal, does not automatically refund the active term, partial terms are not prorated, and promotional memberships may have separate terms.
3. Customer Booking Cancellations
The cancellation amount should be displayed before booking. Recommended default framework:
More Than 14 Days Before Service
The customer may receive a refund of amounts paid, less nonrecoverable expenses, clearly disclosed processing charges, and any nonrefundable planning deposit expressly accepted.
7–14 Days Before Service
The Chef may retain documented nonrecoverable costs, the disclosed deposit, and a reasonable portion of the service fee. The remaining eligible balance may be refunded or credited.
72 Hours–7 Days Before Service
The booking may be substantially nonrefundable because ingredients, staffing, scheduling, and preparation may already be committed.
Less Than 72 Hours Before Service
Amounts paid may be nonrefundable except where required by law or where the Chef agrees otherwise.
The final published schedule should be reviewed by counsel and displayed clearly before acceptance.
4. Meal-Prep Cancellations
Recurring meal-prep services may have separate cutoff times. Customers may be charged for meals when ingredients were purchased, production began, the cancellation cutoff passed, or delivery was attempted according to instructions.
5. Chef Cancellations
When a Chef cancels and cannot perform, the customer should receive a refund for unperformed services, the Platform may help locate a replacement, the Chef may lose payout eligibility, the Chef may be responsible for certain customer losses where agreed or legally required, and the cancellation may affect account standing.
All Dem Chefz™ does not guarantee that a comparable replacement will be available.
6. Force Majeure and Emergencies
Events outside reasonable control may include severe weather, natural disasters, government orders, serious illness, transportation shutdowns, venue closure, utility failure, and public emergencies. The parties should attempt reasonable rescheduling. Refunds or credits will depend on recoverable costs, work already completed, applicable law, booking terms, and whether rescheduling is possible.
7. Customer No-Show or Denied Access
A customer may be ineligible for a refund when the Chef arrives as agreed, cannot access the location, cannot reach the customer, encounters undisclosed unsafe conditions, or is denied venue entry because of customer omissions. The Chef must document reasonable attempts to perform.
8. Material Changes
Changes involving date, location, guest count, menu, staffing, or scope require Chef approval. A requested change may result in revised price, revised deposit, new cancellation terms, or inability to perform.
9. Refund Method
Approved refunds generally return to the original payment method. Processing time depends on the payment provider and financial institution.
10. Platform Credits
Credits may be offered instead of refunds only where the user agrees, applicable law permits, and terms and expiration are clearly disclosed.
11. Quality Complaints
Dissatisfaction does not automatically create a full-refund right. Possible resolutions may include partial refund, credit, reperformance, adjustment, no refund, or other negotiated solution. The outcome depends on evidence, agreed scope, and circumstances.
12. Chargebacks
Users should contact support before initiating a chargeback when possible. Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may result in account restrictions. Nothing limits lawful payment-dispute rights.
13. How to Cancel
Users may cancel through the booking dashboard, membership settings, or [SUPPORT EMAIL]. Cancellation is not complete until the Platform confirms receipt.
